A little bit more about Guisborough
Listed in the Domesday Book as ‘Gighesbore’ the ruined Augustinian Priory which dominates Guisborough’s skyline dates back to the 12th century. There has also been suggestions that Guisborough could date back to the roman occupation of Britain, as artefacts from this time have been found locally.
Today, you can enjoy a walk down the bustling area of Westgate, along the wide cobbled streets. Hike up to the Cleveland Hills, or enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the priory and its surrounding gardens.
